A project for Life Skill Development
During the academic year 2014-2015 junior high school students were introduced to the play “Dr. Faustus” of the famous British writer, Christopher Marlowe. As part of their projects for Life Skill Development by the British Council they had to compose a project individually or collectively in which they explored different values that govern our lives. The following projects reflect on the "Pursuit of Excellence" with special reference to the afore-mentioned play and the famous quote from Ghandi’s preachings. The students had to discuss, analyse, evaluate and assess both extracts and works and compose extended essays drawing parallels, comparing, contrasting using examples from our modern world that demonstrate elements of both respect and excellence amongst humans and how to bring them forth to the best of their abilities. With their second projects they had to use online art museum galleries to find Works that feature the 7 Deadly Sins or Virtues and present them in the classroom with specific references to literature and modern western lifestyles.
