George Watson College MUN – Year 2,3 Junior High School

MUN is a fun way of learning about the world. In this era of globalization, being globally aware is more important than ever. It also develops leadership skills and it is an exercise in research, public speaking and teamwork. These are skills that a student will need throughout his/her career and MUN gives the chance to practise them while being a student. Our delegates of Central African Republic who participated in GWCMUN from 10th to 12th March enjoyed this experience immensely and wrote their comments.

“I came to GWCMUN in order to discuss, meet people and learn several facts about the world. Although at first I felt nervous and afraid, the temptation to talk with other children of the same age and to express my opinion on actual topics was too strong to resist. At the end of the conference I felt relieved, sad but above all excited for this unique experience that lived up to my expectations. I will never forget not only the friendly environment of the conference, but also the fascinating and magnificent city of Edinburgh which revealed the magic of a city which lives in the fog.”

Marianna Bitsani – Year 3 Junior High School

“One of the best things I've ever experienced! It was great to communicate with people from all over the globe and exchange our thoughts about a variety of subjects during the MUN conference. Moreover Edinburgh is a great city to visit with astonishing sights. I hope to visit Scotland again in the future and I am also looking forward to attending an MUN conference in the near future.”
Konstantinos Axidelis – Year 3 Junior High School

“Edinburgh is such a beautiful city, which gives you a magical vibe in every step you make and I would definitely want to come back. MUN for me equals experience, friendship and knowledge. I will never forget this experience. It was something really special which broadened my horizons, helped me learn a lot about global topics which concern our world today and made me think differently and not being scared of standing up to express my point of view and support it.”

Ilianna Anastassiou – Year 3 Junior High School

“Scotland… Edinburgh,  something different, something amazing, something like a fairytale. The MUN experience was awesome, it was a unique experience to practise your English, learn new things that you had never thought of and make new friends for all over the world… March 2017”

Markella Antonakou – Year 3 Junior High School

“Edinburgh, March 2017
I will never forget that trip to Edinburgh. Although we passed most of our time in the George Watson’s College MUN conference discussing about topics that scourge the whole world and that are very controversial, we still managed to get rid of our anxiety and have fun. I made amazing new friends that I will always remember. MUN is an incredible experience because it combines socializing and gaining knowledge. I won’t stop thinking about this conference and I hope I will get to have this opportunity to go there again soon.”
