MUSIC STORY TIME…- Music Steps

Can we put sounds in a story? Can we imagine music coming out of the pictures? Can we follow the music and play scenes of a fairytale using our imagination? The answer is “YES, WE CAN” and this was exactly what we did through our Music Steps Programme in January.

STEPS

After reading  the story “Owl`s Winter Rescue” by A. Loughrey and D. Howarth`s

,we  turned it into a musical by making rhythmical sounds using musical instruments such as maracas, drums, guitar, but also with the use of our teeth, our mouth, our fingers scratching the wooden floor and even with sheets of paper  flapping in the air.

We talked about the importance of having truly good friends that help one another.

And then…the great fun began! We became penguins and slid on the ice without our shoes.

We learned and sang the ‘Snowflake Song’ while skiing and ice-skating. We tried to blow snowflakes made of tissue  high up in the sky.

Time for snowball fight! We made snowballs from our tissue snowflakes and  threw them to our friends. When we heard soft music we went to sleep and when we heard loud music we had a great snowball fight!

Finally, we made a paper snowball craft to keep it as a souvenir of the wonderful time we spent in our Music Step Programme.
