On Thursday, 19 and Friday, 20 April, our School participated in the 6th Panarsakeiako Student Conference, which was held to celebrate the seventy years after the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the UN General Assembly. The theme of the conference was ”In a Changing World: The Right to Education and Human Rights Education” and its key purpose was to empower students to become defenders of human rights and learn to take active roles in the work of creating a more just and peaceful world.
The conference was part of the “Speak Truth to Power” educational programme, which is brought to Greece by the Marianna V. Vardinoyannis Foundation with the collaboration of the Robert F. Iphigeneia Lioupa, Melina Naka, Melina Sousouni, Nefeli Chamodraka and Miranda Naka – Junior High Year 3 students – presented their work at the conference and showed that each one of us can make a difference in the global struggle for justice, respect and tolerance.
