On 10th March, the “European Peace Orchestra” (Μεσογειακή Ορχήστρα Νέων του Rotary για την Ειρήνη) visited our school. It is an international orchestra with musicians from Mediterranean countries. The members of the orchestra are Spanish, Italian, Turkish and Greek.
We asked some of the musicians how they feel about playing music.
They answered that music is their passion and this is what they have always wanted to do. However, some of them said that they couldn’t dedicate much time on their homework when they were students as they had to practise all the time but, in the end it was all worth it.
After the interview, we went to the school theatre to attend their performance.
As soon as the first violinist started playing, there was silence in the audience. Everyone was speechless! The performance was inspirational and we were really impressed. The musicians had put in hours of practice and the music was outstanding. We loved it because they played with passion and mesmerized the audience! Pieces of music from different countries were performed and the sound was unique. We are very grateful for having had the chance to meet them.
